Why do I call it that? Well, my husband loves his grandma's chocolate cake. In fact our wedding cake (the cake part) was made with his grandma's recipe that's how much he loves it. It's an old type buttermilk recipe, so, when I started my diet I knew I would have to create a worthy cake without gluten, refined sugar, dairy etc.. I will admit there were a lot of flops at first (some were so bad I didn't even let him taste them) but I kept trying until finally I created a close replacement. I've gotten the thumbs up from him and let me tell you that says a lot! I just made this cake and again he commented on how good it is. Now you all know the reason for it's name.......I'm about to take a piece to his mother. :)
